Feeling restless and in need of a vacation? We know you’re probably longing for your next trip while you’re at home while you've been at home during CMCO! Lucky for all of us, we live in the age of the Internet, so finding ways to get inspired by travel without stepping foot outdoors is a lot easier than you might think. Here are 5 great ways you can fuel your wanderlust while also staying at home:

1. Revisit Travel Memories

Let’s be real here, the reason why travel seems so longed for is because of all the fond memories you have from your past travels. Why not browse through your phone or camera memory card for old photos, and create a scrapbook of the memories you’ve had in the destinations you’ve visited? By sorting through the pictures and putting it down in place, it might even give you an idea of where you’d like to go next.

2. Binge-Watch Shows About Travelling

Now that you’ve sorted through your memories - it’s time to get inspired. Since you’ve been lounging around during the RMO and becoming a couch potato, why not make your time worthwhile by binge-watching travel shows that are available to you? Look to Netflix or YouTube for a treasure trove of movies, documentaries, and series that will inspire your next getaway!

Finished binge-watching Emily in Paris and now craving for more shows about travelling abroad?  Some of our faves include Memories of The Alhambra (K-drama set in Spain), The Kindness diaries (a docuseries), and Our Planet - just to name a few.

3. Go on a Virtual Tour

With inspiration, now you can take action! Since you’re not able to “tour” the places you’re interested in visiting right now, you can still have a taste of your ideal destination by going on a virtual tour. “Walk” through some of the world’s most prestigious cultural institutions like The Met Or even go on a “ride” on a roller coaster in Walt Disney World! The best part? No queues.

With December coming soon, get into the holiday spirit with this virtual tour of one of Berlin's many Christmas Markets.

4. Create a Bucket List

If you’ve exhausted all the travel shows, podcasts and virtual tours on the Internet, it’s time to start creating a bucket list. With all this time on your hands, take this window of opportunity to think about where your next adventure should take place. Whether you’re dreaming of delicious street foods or exploring the best hiking trails in Malaysia - the sky’s the limit when it comes to your bucket list!

5. Make your plans on a vision board (Or Pinterest)

While you’re creating a bucket list, you should also create a vision board to make your travel plans seem more concrete. Fill up your vision board with brochures, pictures from old magazines or drawings of the places you might want to go!

Alternatively, you might want to opt for a digital vision board if you prefer having less hassle. A great website to use is Pinterest - where you can pin your favorite images onto your Pinterest board for inspiration.

With so much going on right now, it can be mentally exhausting and overwhelming to do too much of anything, so sit back, relax and don’t be ashamed of indulging in your travel daydreams! Meanwhile, we would like to remind everyone to stay safe during this period of CMCO. See you again soon!
