Countries that had opened for vaccinated travellers (Updated by 29 June 2021)

16 Jul 2021

Watching the EURO2020 has reminded us how life used to revolve pre-pandemic times. Vaccination seems to be the missing link between continuous lockdowns versus flying around for leisure and events. Despite the various conditions for passengers flying in from different countries, the following list of countries has generally started to accept tourists once proof of vaccination is available. Among some beautiful locations we found are:

Bulgaria

Passage of entry to this unitary state on the Balkan Peninsula in southeastern Europe come in the following ways:

  • Proof of a completed COVID-19 vaccination program along with a negative PCR test or a rapid antigen test for COVID-19.
  • People that have recovered from COVID-19 have to show a negative result from a rapid antigen test (RTK-Ag) performed up to 48 hours before entry into the country.
  • If you have an EU Digital COVID Certificate.

Denmark

As some might have noticed in the EURO2020 games, Denmark has opened up their borders for people that suit the following:

  • Arrivals from a 'yellow' listed country on the government website.
  • People from "open" countries or people categorised with a 'worthy purpose' that stay a minimum of 6 nights.
  • If you have an EU Digital COVID Certificate.
  • Starting 26 June 2021, tourists arriving from orange EU and Schengen countries and who have a negative COVID-19 test are no longer expected to have to quarantine on arrival in Denmark just as long they have a negative COVID-19 test result before departure.

This land of medieval cities, alpine villages and Mediterranean beaches is truly worth the effort to visit provided you meet these conditions:

  • Vaccinated travellers from the EU (green list) don't need to show a negative COVID-19 test while the rest of the world (orange list) will require negative PCR or antigen tests.
  • Travel is allowed from the UK to France for EU nationals, French residents and those with essential reasons.
  • Other travellers aside from the above generally have to present a negative PCR test or antigen COVID-19 test done less than 48 hours before their flight along with a declaration that they have no COVID-19 symptoms and have not been in close contact with any COVID-19 patients over the last 14 days. Upon arrival, travellers have to be quarantined for 7 days and conduct a PCR test before leaving quarantine.

A gem located in Southern Europe comprising the boot-shaped Italian peninsula alongside a number of beautiful islands complimented with amazing food would be the ideal location for revenge travel once travellers:

  • Present proof of vaccination.
  • Proof of recovery from COVID-19.
  • Negative Antigen Swab Test took within 48 hours prior to entering Italy.

As we're currently confined to our 10 km radius at the comfort of our own home, we hoped to have encouraged you to get vaccinated and plan ahead for your future travel as there's a whole big world out there waiting for us to explore.
